International Children's Day on June 1 2024!

In Germany, there are two Children's Days celebrated each year. This is because the "Children's Day" was created in the different power blocs after World War II. The former GDR decided in 1948 on an international Children's Day and set the date for June 1st. The former Federal Republic of Germany adopted UNICEF's recommendation in 1954 to celebrate September 20th as "World Children's Day". Since reunification, there have therefore been two Children's Day festivals in Germany. Children's Day is celebrated all over the world, now in over 145 countries, but always on a different date depending on tradition

This special day is primarily intended to raise awareness of the rights and needs of children and to promote their friendship with each other.
